DRILL PIPE is a tubular steel conduit fitted with special threaded ends called tool joints. The Drill Pipe connects the rig surface equipment with the bottom hole assembly and the bit, both to pump drilling fluid to the bit and to be able to raise, lower and rotate the bottom hole assembly and bit.

HEAVY WEIGHT DRILL PIPE is an intermediate member of the drill string with thicker wall than associated drill pipe. HWDP tends to be stronger and has higher tensile strength than conventional drill pipe.

DRILL COLLAR is a component of a drill string that provides weight on bit for drilling. Drill collars are thick-walled tubular pieces machined from solid bars of steel, usually plain carbon steel but sometimes of nonmagnetic premium alloys.

STABILIZER is a piece of downhole equipment used in the bottom hole assembly (BHA) of a drill string. It mechanically stabilizes the BHA in the borehole in order to avoid unintentional sidetracking, vibrations, and ensure the quality of the hole being drilled.
